I would definitely have to say that my favorite caf dinner theme is Thanksgiving! I love stuffing, mashed potatoes, and ham. Ham is my favorite food by far. I know it's a little weird that I like Thanksgiving and I don't really like turkey. But, I really don't know what to say? I'll eat turkey, but I'd rather eat a lot of ham. It also is pretty cool how the staff dresses up like native Americans and pilgrims. It's a fun time at Albright and I enjoyed it a lot.

I do not have a meal plan because I have an apartment now. This was my choice. You can have a meal plan if you live in an apartment.

When I did have a meal plan, taco night was always my favorite. Tortilla shell, sour cream and refried beans, then crunchy shell, meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa. Put it all together baby!

Hmm Thanksgiving, Christmas, Late Night Breakfast, Mardi Gras, or Beach Party?  I'll go with Christmas!  While I love the meal at Thanksgiving lunch, Christmas has been an all time favorite because of the time with friends.  You line up at 4pm to get a table, and then everyone goes to a different line and grabs food to have a family style dinner.  It's just nice to see all your friends together one night before finals begin and everyone goes home for break.

Like Andy, I have an apartment and have been experimenting with meals on my own, but I fully intend to pay to get into the dining hall for all of these lunches/dinners!  It is really just for the social aspect, but who can resist dirt cake and all the desserts (more important than the actual meal to me)!

I love the Beach Lunch!  The atmosphere is just so upbeat and fun, the food is wonderful (cotton candy, anyone?), and you win PRIZES!  It's just a blast.  I love how much fun everyone is having.  You can tell that everyone has relaxed.  It's a nice break from classes and "regular old lunches."  Plus, I love seafood (the Marti Gras dinner is up there too!), and the fried shrimp is so delicious!

I definetly have to say MARDI GRAS!!!!! I love how much delicious food there is and how the staff completely turns the cafe into what resembles New Orleans!!!  And the desserts are to die for.....I think by the end of the evening I probably gain about 5 lbs but its only because the food tastes so good! I think its one of the best things I love about Albright! It's something you can look forward to every year and expect nothing but the best....plus the fact that if you want a good seat you have to start lining up at 3pm...the conversations in line are soo much fun!

I also like the fact that we open it up not only to the students, faulty, and staff, but also the the Reading community! It shows them that we care about them and that we want them to take part in such special days!!!

Mardi Gras Dinner!! Definitely my favorite themed dinner, we always have a live southern New Orleans band, playing jazz themed music, the food is to DIE for, frog legs, crocodile, crab, chicken, beef, fried Ice cream, dumplings, milk shakes chocolate covered strawberries   anything and everything southern and non traditional to what any students have ever had. I had never tried frog legs before but its true what they say! it tastes like Chicken!! because i'm employed in the Cafeteria I get first treat to all the delicious Food!!! and its always a treat to see the long line of students camping outside the doors in order to get good seats and to get first in line for the fresh food student workers, and caf workers hand out Mardi Gras beads (appropriately ;) I even got to wear a French Barret! there are so many themed dinners that it was almost impossible to pick, Late Night Breakfast would be second place, the chocolate fountain and having faculty of Albright serve students, thats a once in a life time opportunity!

Beach lunch is definitely my favorite themed meal! It is just so much fun to have games during lunch and being able to win prizes while you eat fair food like cotton candy, funnel cake, milkshakes and lots of fried food! Last year I won lots of fun prizes and it made my day! Its one day in the cafe that students never miss!

I have to say that I also love the late night snacks during finals week too! its a great study break and gives me motivation to keep studying.

All of the themed meals are so much fun and gives everyone something to talk about and look forward too because of all the great yummy food! It really shows a great sense of community on our campus between students and facility!

My favorite dinner is definitely Thanksgiving.  I love all the food, and the caf definitely comes close to the homemade taste of the turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it now.

But seriously, the thanksgiving meal is the best.  Now that the continuous dining hours are in effect, I may just stay in the caf all day and eat.  Nap on the seats for a couple hours and then go back and eat some more :P

It's really that good :D

My favorite themed dinner is definitely Christmas dinner! I love the environment and the food! You have to get there so early to line up (but that's the way it is for any of the themed dinners). I love how you can get just about anything. There are endless entrees, sides, and a never ending buffet of desserts! Last year they had bananas foster (one of my favorites)! They have great drinks and last year, I loved it because they had a GIANT gingerbread house with Santa in it. I got my picture taken with Santa. :) It was wonderful. And don't worry if you don't celebrate Christmas! Come anyway and get some of the best and most food you can ever eat!
  1. Obviously LATE NIGHT BREAKFAST!  It is literally the best night of my life.  During finals week the cafeteria opens late at night so that students that are studying intensely can take a break and grab a bite to eat.  But Late Night Breakfast is special, for many reasons.  Albright administrators and staff are the ones that serve you.  The selection of food they have is incredible.  They not only have the breakfast staples like eggs, bacon, and homefries, but they have a chocolate fountain and French toast sticks!  The cafeteria truly pulls out all the stops for this event.  Late Night Breakfast is so popular that it is the most crowded one will ever see the Albright cafeteria because it is free to all students.  My five “Late Night Breakfast” friends and I have made it a tradition, and because it is so crowded we formulate a game plan before we get there.  As soon as we walk in the doors we split up.  Two of us go into the “staples” line and just get plates of eggs and breakfast meat.  Two of us go to the chocolate fountain line and get cups of melted chocolate, fruit, and plates of French toast sticks.  The last two get drinks for everyone and get our desired breads, bagels, and condiments including ketchup and syrup.  This way we do not all have to wait in the lines and get to eat sooner.  Breakfast and friends at 10 PM, what could be better?

Thanksgiving, no contest. Reason 1, home-style cooking. No one walks into the cafeteria during Thanksgiving dinner and says "Wow, I really hate it when Dining Services goes the extra mile to feed me roasted turkey, filling, mashed potatoes, gravy, and biscuits". Reason 2, costumes. President McMillan dresses up as a pilgrim and walks around the cafeteria. Enough Said. Reason 3, Thanksgiving is associated with the best traditional holiday fare. Think about it; Easter copies off of Thanksgiving, feels bad about it, and substitutes the turkey with a ham. Christmas just straight up copies Thanksgiving. Then the 4th of July provides a family picnic, and Halloween provides less nutritional value than McDonalds' food, which is a feat. Therefore, one can arrive at the conclusion that Thanksgiving food, and it's theme dinner here at Albright, is the superior themed dinner option.

THANKSGIVING!!!  I abosolutely love Thanksgiving because it's the only time of the year when you can eat whatever you want and not feel guilty about it. The Dining Hall has an AMAZING set up for Thanksgiving and the cafeteria is usually packed with students on the day of the event.

I have to agree with Jesse...I might just sit in the caf all day and eat turkey until I pass out....is it Thanksgiving yet?!
