Albright Graduate!

It is very hard to believe that at the end of this summer I will not be packing the car to head back to Albright. I had four great years, but that chapter in my life ended last Sunday and it is time to move on to bigger things! Hopefully, it is med school for me as I am still on the waiting list at VCOM, but if it is not this year, it will be next year, so I am excited. What is more exciting though is the fact that the friends you meet in college will still be there for you. I was so happy last…See More

Senior Mystery Dinner

Lion DIPS is an organization on campus that works with the Alumni Office and hosts events.  One event is Senior Mystery Dinner, a free dinner for about half of the senior class to an unknown restaurant.  This year, the dinner was at the Melting Pot in Center City, Philadelphia.  I had never been to the melting pot before, so I did not know what to expect, but it was so nice!  The whole place was reserved for Albright with cheese, entrees, dessert, and a free alcoholic drink for each senior.  I…See More

Should've, Could've, Would've

Last week I went to a glassblowing demonstration at the Goggleworks in West Reading through an Albright trip.  Only 4 people went, but I was one and had fun!  I did see glassblowing before in Murano Italy, but this was so nice because the guy working, Scott, was so informative.  His major in college was glass-how cool is that?!  Goggleworks is so close to Albright, but now that I am leaving, I wish I would have taken a mosaic class or something there.  Yes, you cannot have a car your first…See More

College=T-shirt Time! (And not Jersey Shore style)

After 4 years of Albright, I can say with confidence that I have a drawer of just t-shirts from Albright, so if you are lacking t-shirts, don't worry-we have you covered!  Almost every group on campus makes shirts that are always catchy and make a good fundraiser.  I like so many of them, that I say what's $10, and I buy one after another.  Now, Ski Society and Outdoors are selling shirts that say "B.A.D.A.S.S." which has a double meaning of the organization names, Big Adventure Domain and…See More

Third Place Book

Won third place in the group edible book contest!  Yes, even though the prize covered the expenses, it was still fun.  There were a lot of cool entries like the Lorax, Winnie the Pooh, The Hunger Games, and Something about dogs and biscuits.  Hope you all do it next year!See More

Edible Book Contest!?

So each year, I think it is usually the second week in April, there is an edible book contest through our library and libraries around the U.S. I believe.  Our library offers prizes to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place groups or individuals who creat an edible book.  My friend Katie did it last year and thought we neded a group, and put my name on it too, so I "won", but I did not do all the leg work.  So this year, when I got an e-mail from a fellow RA and Ambassador who said we should sign-up, I texted…See More

Awesome Weekends at Albright!

I know I have talked about going to these two events, but now I need to tell you how they were..awesome!  Friday night was the Royals hockey game, and it was a blast!  You got tickets only with whoever you signed up with, but there were a good amount of empty seats where we were, so everyone moved and could sit together.  They ran shuttles there, but we drove separately since we are of age and wanted to check out the bar called The Ugly oyster, which was the perfect place to sit and just chat. …See More

Free Hockey Game!

Yes, free!  Since freshman year I have been going to the Royals minor league team here in Reading, and I enjoy every game.  I usually go to about 3 games a year, which is nothing compared to my roommate from freshman year whose parents have season tickets and she goes too, but it's enough for me.  So, I was very excited when I got the e-mail that said Albright had 250 tickets for free for students the Friday after Spring Break-yes please!  I love going to sporting events because it's a night…See More

Ski Season Coming to an "End"

Well there was not really much of a ski season this year since we had no snow, but we still planned 2 trips to Blue Mountain!  One was last weekend and another this Sunday, but what has been great has been the interest from other groups on campus like the Football team.  Coach Winslow, a football coach, offerred to drive the van when our advisor could not, and he brought us many new members from his team.  It's so nice to be able to meet new people and take advantage of these trips before…See More

Saw an autopsy!

So freshman year, I went to an organ recital at Reading Hospital where the pathology department sets out organs, diseased and normal, to show students how to know the difference.  I was so fascinated and interested, that I received the contact info for a pathology assistant (PA), and kept in touch.  I finally have a car back on campus, and so I e-mailed her to set up a date to shadow.  She was going to be out of the office, but she gave me the contact info for another PA, Steve, who gladly had…See More

Preparing for Graduation!?

It is so scary to think that my 4 years at Albright is coming to a close!  No one wants to accept the fact that they are graduating in a few months, but the Career and Development Center keeps us on track!  With free pizza for dinner to draw us in, my friends and I went to get the dates for cap and gown measurements, dates for networking events, not to mention resume and interview workshops.  I have been trying to boost my resume by applying for an internship at Children's Hospital of…See More
