A Word From the Wise- Alumni That is...

This past weekend Albright College hosted Sneak Peek and an Open House. Campus was quite hectic! It was full of eager incoming freshman, overzealous and hyped up current students, and even some pumped alumae, myself included. Now, I am an aluma and I have fully accepted this fact of life, however, we had some real alumae here this weekend too. By real I mean out of Albright and in the working world for over 2 months. One of the sessions at the Open House was an Alumnae Panel discussion;an… Continue

The Biggest Walk Across a Stage of MY LIFE.

So.. yes it is true, I have graduated. Not going to lie, I never thought this day would happen. It feels like yesterday when I was blogging for the very first time for Albright sitting on the floor in my roommate while my parents were beeping the horn waiting for me in the car. Then I pondered it a bit further and I realized it has been a long time because that was a different girl. That girl never knew what it was like to live on her own, to leave the country, what sociology was, what POP'sContinue

Thank you Kelly-Anne! At least I now have Sun and Jason's names. Do you know of anyone on FACES that I could ask about contacting either of them? Perhaps someone they were friends with? Hydriotaphia? Sounds very interesting, is it still open this weekend?

Ah, I remembered that she had an interesting name! Are you friends with her or is there any means where I could send her an email? Or maybe you could relay my e-mail address to her? She was a very sweet guide with such a pleasant sense of humor! I found Greg Smith's FACES weblog, but unfortunately he was not the gentleman I spoke with last year. The student I spoke with was telling me some interesting stories about adding music into television shows and some other tidbits about music business. Other than his major all I wrote down was that he commuted to Albright. Once again I'm disappointed that I did not have the foresight to write down anyone's name! LOL. If he was not a tour guide is it possible that another department on campus was giving tours last year? The discussion was very interesting to me. I had that guide the same day as Sun except at different times, so I assumed they worked in the same department.

I am doing well, I've been having some trouble with a Calculus course that I'm taking, but my teacher says that my work is steadily improving. Give me a science course or a chance on stage any day instead of calculus! I'm also getting ready to apply to Albright too! How are you?

Hello Kelly-Anne! After quite a long search I finally found the notes that I took from my three open house visits to Albright! Unfortunately, I was wrong to assume that you were one of the tour guides that I had, but I was curious as to whether you knew them or could help me contact the guides that I did have? I have several follow up questions about specific details that they mentioned, but my notes only include details about what they spoke about and their majors (I never wrote down their names). I perused Albright's FACES but could not find any of them. One was an Asian woman majoring in criminology, the second was a gentleman who had dark hair and was majoring in music business, and the third was a woman with blonde/brown hair but I never wrote down her major. I guess the last woman you don't have to bother with since I remember not being interested in her major (I think it was fashion, no offense to fashion majors!), but the first two I would love to speak with in some form. Though their majors are not my primary interests, I would love to hear more about the majors and what they thought of the programs. I would be most gracious for any help Kelly-Anne!

Kelly, I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I looked into your blog about "ponding" that you recommended and wasn't quite able to understand the concept. I see that it's a birthday tradition which involves being in a pond at Albright, but does it entail anything else? Do you have to drink pondwater or anything like that? If so, that's a pretty unique (and funny) tradition!

Also, are you one of the people who gives tours at the open houses? I think I might have had you with my group on one of the times that I visited the school in the past 2 years. Oh, the theatre program sounds great! I will have more questions on that but I figured I have already taken up a lot of your time for now!
