AUC: It's Madness

It's been a while, but here I am again. Been busy with midterms and was in Kenya for Eid break.I had an amazing Eid break in Lamu Island, Kenya. I had to go home for Eid this year, one because Kenya is very close to Egypt and second, I have not had Eid with my family back in Kenya for so long. I enjoyed every bit of it, off course I missed my family back in the States, but I am so blessed and grateful that I have another family in Kenya to celebrate an amazing Islamic holiday with. My sister…See More

Alexandria - يسكانداريا

Alexandria was so much fun. It was only a 3 hour bus ride from Cairo. I went with the AUC ISA (International Student Affairs). Alex is completely different from Cairo. It is more conservative than Cairo, the way people dress especially women, there are definitely more women covering their heads and some veiled than in Cairo. Also there…See More

Classes Resume at AUC

Back to school!I had an awesome week off with no school and I am not going to lie, it was such a great week. I slept a lot, I caught up on my readings for my classes, I hang out with friends (mostly Egyptians) and I explored Zamalek (the island on the Nile that I live on).The Administration and the Student Union at AUC reached an agreement that instead of the 7% tuition increase, it will now be 2.3% increase for the next three years. If interested in knowing more about the agreement click the…See More

The Red Sea and AUC - يلغامما يلامعريكيا بيلقاحيراح

I had such a great time at the Red Sea. The ride to the hotel was only an hour and a half away from Cairo. I stayed in a very nice hotel and there were a good combination of Egyptian and American food. We were suppose to stay there for just two days, but on our way back to Cairo there was an explosion on the highway from an oil tanker,…See More

I have been very busy since I came back from Eid break. I have so much to do in terms of presentations, papers, and exams, before I leave for the States, but I will surely miss Cairo.

Thank you for checking up on me. I will see you soon :)
