The purpose of an internship is to provide a real life experience of what a typical day in the office is going to look like. I knew that before going in and that was exactly what I got.

When I first came to Hong Kong, while I had met a lot of people from the area through school, I didn't have any contacts. I was truly only a tourist, and was by myself. At first it was lonesome, up until the point that I had to go to neighboring Macau to re-enter Hong Kong to have my work visa validated. As a current international internship student, I can honestly say that this experience was one that is truly worth it, and my advice would be to grab any study abroad opportunity! Being in Asia, specifically Hong Kong in my case, alone has a lot of advantages. While some places might be a little crowded, there is always someone around at all hours making it extremely safe.
