AHHHHH and the Countdown BEGINS!!!!!!!

So after returning last week from spring break I was informed that as of last tuesday its officially 2 MONTHS til GRADUATION!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty excited to be graduating college but it makes me realize how much I'm gonna really miss it around here :( All the pranks weve pulled, the parties we went to, the concerts we've hosted and all the Albright Cookies we've eaten will soon be one of those cheesy stories I tell people, "Well back in my college days...."

So…

Don't text and drive!

I was listening to the radio this morning and was VERY surprised at the number of people who called in saying it is "easy" for them to text while driving! One man even told how he is able to text while riding his motor cycle! I will be honest and admit that I used to be guilty of texting while driving, until I watched the clip below:…

Who Isn't Stressed???

I was trading messages a few nights ago with a high school friend whose daughter is a high school senior this year. Her daughter also happens to be an applicant to Albright as the family crammed in some new schools to her college list at the end of the process. My friend commented how much she couldn't wait for the process and stress to be over. My response, "you are only dealing with one student decision, I'm waiting on thousands!!!!".

Anyone involved in the college admission…

Yourkshire Terrior!!!!

Yourkshire Terrior! Yes I said it! I have wanted a dog since I was a baby. Ok, maybe not since I was a baby, but I love animals, and I have always wanted a puppy. My parents would say yes to almost anything else but they would never let me have a puppy! One year my parents bought me a cat, which I loved dearly but they never wanted me to have a puppy. They did not feel that I would take care of a puppy well enough. Well I am 21 years old, a senior in college and my parents have finally decided… Continue

So...how was your month?

This has been an interesting month. Although I am a senior I actually didn't do anything spectacular for my spring break. I am taking one class off campus, so I had to request to stay in the dormitory during spring break. This would normally be sad because there were barely any students on campus except for some RA's but I actually didn't mind staying because my roommate had to stay too. I also got more work done than I expected. When I finally got the chance to go home I got to spend some time… Continue

SO.MUCH.GOING.ON

Hey readers!

So as you may have deduced from this blog title in my life there is SO MUCH GOING ON. I'll begin with a re-cap of my spring break

Spring Break! Yay!

So this year the campus Alternative Spring Break club decided to go down to Florida to volunteer at a camp for kids with disabilites. The week we went it was for children on ventilators, and it was sooo much fun! We all… Continue

Mayweather, Mosley?!

So I'm still on the Manny Pacquao vs. Floyd Mayweather bandwagon, but Mayweather will be fighting on May 1. His opponent, Shane Mosely. I actually want to see this fight. While I'm not the biggest Mosely fan, this will be a dandy. But, I'm still all for Pacquao Mayweather.lol

WOOO SPRING BREAK!!!!

So its has been forever since i posted and i figured now would be the best time because i'm on spring break. I just haven't had anytime to do anything the last month. Lets start with the fact of how there was so much snow and its gone....where'd it all go? Then the fact that people are wear less and less clothing around campus (good in some cases not in others). But Im happy about this weather because Albright seems to become a flower in bloom in the spring time.

The pond…

Definition of "Spring" .... red Adirondack Chairs

Lots of things speak 'Spring' to me.

Robins, short sleeves, the metallic crack of baseball bats on an afternoon.

But Friday .... Friday was the definition of Spring at Albright ....

at least to me.

I watched the grounds crew unload and powerwash the Red Chairs in the morning.

And by the time I left in the evening, those chairs were dry and blooming all around the campus:

in pairs, in circles, in solitary nooks.

Today the…

Books? Classes? What's CFA mean? ALC? MPK? What?! (An Intro to Orientation)

Two weeks ago we had interviews for POP's...the fancy acronym for "Peer Orientation People....persons? I think it's people. So for the second year I'll be participating in the orientation for first year students and transfers in late August. I know some of you maybe thinking to yourselves "I've heard a lot about this POPs thing....what's orientation like?". Well you're in luck! In this blog I'll be giving you and inside look at Albright's ridiculously amazing orientation program, just to ease… Continue

Reminiscing with my mother- first open house, first tour, freshmen move-in day

So it's spring break for the Albrightians and earlier today while eating the scones I baked (I discovered a new recipe for scones earlier this year and I'm mildly obsessed- I bake them at least twice a week) with my mother we began to reminisce about my first Albright experiences.

My first open house:

I came totally not interested in Albright so I brought my coloring book (I was in a big coloring book stage when I was a senior in high school) and my mother and father came… Continue

The Day My March Madness Bracket Died

So, if any of you follow college basketball, you've filled out your bracket for the tournament. It took me days to finally settle on my picks....I mapped out my upsets...weighed my final four...and picked Kansas as the champ.

Today is day one, and I'm already in the toilet as far as picks.

I picked one big upset: UTEP over Butler...and that did not happen. I also did not pick Murray State to upset...nor St. Mary...nor Northern Iowa....nor Old Dominion...and Georgetown went… Continue

Vegas for Spring Break

In my final spring break ever ;gasp; I've been vacationing in Las Vegas!!! It's been tons of fun... it's crazy because I had a bartender the other night who asked me where I went to school and I said Albright, and he knew about our football field and was telling me about how great our stadium was. He gave my roommates and me free drinks... one has to wonder was it because we were ladies or because we went to Albright.... maybe both!

General Question About College Athletics

I will be attending college somewhere next year (2011) and want to participate in athletics. I play golf and am doing pretty well. Our team finished last year 55-1. Anyway, what do colleges do about individual health insurance for athletes. My father lost his job and we currently don't have our own insurance. I was just wondering if the college covered it's athletes in the event of an injury. Thanks.

Chris Sheerer at NCAA Swimming Championships

Chris Sheerer '11 is keeping a blog about his experiences at the NCAA Division III Swimming Championships in Minnesota. He will be competing in the 100 and 200 backstroke and the 200 IM.

Here's a quick bio:

Out of the water, exemplifies what it means to be a Division III student-athlete maintaining a 3.8 grade point average. As a Biology, Spanish, and Pre-Med triple major,…

Ever since then I have not heard anything from albright about it.I was looking at the planned events for accepted students and I noticed that April 9th was the Coleman award thing and I never recieved anything about that event. That does that mean that I didnt get the award?

Is there anyway Albright will give me more money? or once they make their mind, its final.....and if they can change it, who am I supposed to talk to about this?

hey

Hey so I just became a member and decided to blog. I've been accepted to Albright and thinking of attending this fall for biology/pre-med. I will be visiting the campus next month. I'm still weighing my options, but if there's people out there that would like to help and talk about Albright comment me.

Hey

Hey so I just became a member and decided to blog. I've been accepted to Albright and thinking of attending this fall for biology/pre-med. I visited campus about two months ago and I really seemed to have liked it. I'm still weighing my options, but if there's people out there that would like to help and talk about Albright comment me.

Bad Day Turned Good! :)

Hey Everyone!

So today started off AWFUL! I had to get up at 7 AM to go take one of my THREE midterms of the day. I was not a happy camper. On top of that, I've been letting a lot of the little things get to me, and today was sure to be my breaking point. I came back to my room after taking my second midterm of the day and checked my e-mail. There, in my inbox, was an e-mail from Loren Morgan. It was titled Congratulations! And I thought, could it be? Sure enough, I was…
