Ok, so I got into this fabulous school! I'm so excited! Here's how I found out:
The bell had rung for 4th period (the last one of the day) I'm walking down the hallway, my teacher for 4th period comes up to me and is like
"So April, are you excited about performing tonight?" I answer yes. (I did awesome!! I'll post the video later). So he walks his separate way to the classroom, where I would shortly see him. Anyway, I cut through the library to get to class, it's less traffic that way. I stop into my GEM leader's office and I ask her if she's coming to the performance. She says no, because she has to watch her grand-daughter. So she asks me to give her a sample and I do. Since the bell is about to ring, she writes me a pass. I happily take it and walk to my class, which is less than 10 seconds from her office. The bell rings as soon as I walk in the door.
"Just made it." I say to myself. Then I here my friend "Oh, there she is." I'm a bit confused and I set my books down on my desk. I see my college counselor from the corner of my eye (she's the best ever!) and I'm about to sit down when she says "So now that everyone is here, I have some news. I just got a call from an admissions office saying that April has just been accepted to Albright College!!!" I totally freak out!
"Are you serious?!" I shout! Everyone is smiling and I fall to the floor in a heap of excitement and tears! I'm crying an laughing at the same time. I finally pull myself up and sit on top of this long desk in the room. I lay down on it, still crying and laughing. My AVID teacher comes up to me and gives me a hug. One of my best friends starts crying because I'm crying and hugs me. We hug and I'm still crying. Everyone is clapping and giving my congrats. It was an amazing moment. After like 3 minutes, I say "Can I call my mommy?" My couselor says "Sure" and allows me to come down to her office. I'm still crying while we walk down the hallway. I go into her office and she leaves me there because she has a meeting. So I call my mom and a co-worker answers. I ask to speak to her and say that it's an emergency. I hear my mom in the background saying "Is someone dead?" She gets on the line and I tell her the news. She was really excited.
So that's how I found out I got in. I can't wait until fall 2009!
