Albright College

There's nothing as quiet as a college campus the day a break begins.  Our campus goes from being alive and vibrant with students everywhere, to so quiet you could hear a pin drop.  Today, however, for Albright employees it is another work day until 3 pm.  So we get to observe the quiet (can you observe quiet?).

Prior to holiday breaks the admission office attempts to get as many letters out as possible.  So the last three days has been very busy in the office.  We've been reading, processing, printing, signing, and calling all week.  The 250 offers of admission that went out today will probably equal somewhere between 7 and 8% of the offers of admission we will extend for the entire year.

This afternoon while making congratulation phone calls the quiet and calm of the day was interupted by a "OH MY GOSH THAT'S GREAT NEWS I WAS GOING TO CALL YOU TODAY, I WAS GETTING NERVOUS, THANK YOU!".  I really enjoy when students are this excited about their admission.  The student knows who she is, so if you read this, thank you for making my day.

Happy Holidays to everyone, I hope that you get the congratulations news that you desire in the near future.
