Albright College

I love Cairo. Its already the third week of classes and I like all my classes and my professors thus far. The campus is huge compared to Albright and its so beautiful, I sometimes feel like I am in a resort. I am taking four classes: Arabic, Egyptian Foreign Policy (a very interesting course because the foreign policy is in the making), International Politics of Middle East and International Law. Today, the AUC (American University in Cairo) students had a protest regarding the increase of tuition every semester. They protested because they pay a lot of money and they do not get enough services or what they pay for. Because of that my Arabic and International Politics of Middle East classes got cancelled. I was a bit upset because I woke up at 6am to get ready to take the 7 o'clock bus to the campus because I live outside the campus on an island called Zamalek. When I got there the gates were closed and it was very difficult to get into the campus, but then they let us in. The other thing that I like about AUC is that, I only have classes four days a week, starting on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. No classes on Tuesdays for everybody, Fridays and Saturday are holidays. Egypt is not a dangerous place like what other people thinks. The media only shows you bad news. I am glad I am here to witness everything, because the media only reports bad news especially in the Middle East.
Now I am off to finish my homework and I will upload some pictures from Egypt n' some with Lex the Lion soon :)
