Catwoman, College interviews, Cars and Congress!

Oh, a most exciting month has gone by… and wow… how fast it went.  I just realized how long it has been since my last blog (oops) and cannot believe that Halloween parties are this weekend (going as Catwoman, accompanied obviously by my very own Batman : ) - thanksgiving is right around the corner and I just discussed with my mother tonight what I want for Christmas….   ?????  Seriously ????

First and foremost, just letting you all know that my brother was accepted to ALBRIGHT COLLEGE!!!!!!  I mean, I was excited when he even mentioned my school when he told me the places he was looking at, but then he came here, did an interview, got an official tour and really loved it.  He’s been here a few times before, and I guess he felt the same thing I did when I first came here. Or maybe he just really, really misses seeing me every day and can’t wait to hang out together…. Hmmm…  I’ll go with that one.  Because this is my blog, and he cannot argue with me. Haha !  Seriously, he’s amazing and I look so forward to watching his future unfold.  : )  Congratulations, Anthony!!!!

Midterms?  Ouch.  Literally.  I’m a history education major.  I did a lot of bluebook writing.   But the best part of Midterms?  Fall break followed quickly after.  I spent that Friday night checking out an indoor paintball park with Mason, eating Sonic and then falling asleep on the way home in the car while he sang to me.  Saturday was a wonderful day of shopping with my mom, buying a few pairs of bedazzled bootleg jeans to go with my cowboy boots, listening to music, sharing lunch and a Friendly’s Reese’s Cup Sundae.   I returned to Reading on Saturday night and spent the rest of the weekend catching up on sleep and enjoying some time off.   And ohhh….. I got to drive my parent’s car back to school to keep it for the week and … um…. I really need a car all the time.  I told my parents that.  I didn’t do a very good job of convincing them, because at the end of the week we still had to drive the car back home and most reluctantly place the keys back in my mother’s hand.  Hardest thing I’ve had to do in some time…

So I now have a huge pink western belt with a jeweled buckle so big that I can actually feel myself carrying the extra weight around when I walk.  And a riding jacket.  And memories of one of the most wonderful trips I have ever taken.  You know that I pride myself in living life with an open mind to all the things I have never experienced… well I spent this past week at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio with Mason and his mom.  I watched the most spectacular animals, the most beautiful riders, tried on a $3,500 rhinestone studded riding jacket and you know, I looked good in it.  : )  I nuzzled a horse and realized that my whole world has just grown in a direction I could have not predicted 6 months ago.  I ate the best cinnamon buns I have ever eaten in my entire life.  (I just realized that I have mentioned Sonic, ice cream sundaes and cinnamon buns in this blog… maybe it’s not the belt buckle that I feel the weight of as I walk around…hahaha!! )  but seriously, I could not have dreamed this experience any better than it was, and I am thankful to be part of such a wonderful family who, since the very beginning, has taken me along wherever they go, as one of their own. : )))

Time flies when you are having this much fun : )
