I swear this summer is going faster than usual. We just finished up summer swim season on Saturday so now I'm officially done coaching. We ended up placing 7th at our League Championship which considering there were about 26 other teams there, is pretty awesome. I've been with this swim team either swimming or coaching for 15 years now and it's crazy to me that this may actually be my last year for good! I get kind of emotional thinking about it =[.
Even though I'm done coaching I'm still continuing with my internship which is going fabulous! I've still been researching a ton and I've expanded this ginormous list of contacts for the Science Fiction & Fantasy Short Film Festival so there have to be over 100 contacts now. I'm pretty proud of it! The more people we get the word out to, the better. Just yesterday I put together a history of the film festival and looked at how many people have been submitting over the years. They've gone from less than 40 submissions in 2006 to over 140 submissions just this year! It's so awesome to see that it just keeps growing! So if you know anyone who is an up and coming film maker, pass the word along! Entries can be submitted all the way through August I think? I also got to take this super behind the scenes tour at the museum which was so rad! I went through the Avatar, horror, AC DC and Nirvana exhibits and got to see backstage places that only specially admitted guests get to see. It was amazing! I felt like I was in the CIA or something because I even got a badge that gives me access to certain places. It's been such an incredible experience, I feel so lucky to have gotten picked to a part of the EMP! Plus I suppose as my Mom would say I'm keeping out of trouble because I'm so busy. Like I would get into trouble ;]
Talk to you guys soon!
PS: I got to see a preview of my FACES profile and I can't wait for it to go on the website or in the book so you can see it! Makes me feel famous
PSS: check out this awesome blurb about the Avatar exhibit from the EMP website! The pictures are great! http://www.empmuseum.org/exhibitions/index.asp?categoryID=19&cc...
