Albright College

Living in a place like Little Rock has been an amazing experience. For those of you who do not know, this is my first time away from home for any length of time. Being the youngest in the family it was not easy for my mother or me to say good bye for the two and a half months but it has been amazing, and although I miss my family very much I was able to create a home away from home (about 1,200 miles away to be precise). But this internship has taught me many things about myself that I never knew. First off it taught me that I can provide for myself and survive on my own... which is always nice to know.... I also learned that no matter where you are there are good people out there; you just have to find them. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best people I have ever had the good fortune to know. During these past few weeks no one ever left me in a jam and it is nice to have people to turn to when you are all alone. It was nice to be a part of the Cubical World family here at the Library and I am going to miss everyone! Something that I knew about myself but now have no doubt in my mind is that I love and will always love working in archives. For the past four years I have been gaining the best understanding of the archival profession and the archivist here at the Clinton Library were great at teaching me the ins and outs of the Presidential Archives, As I said before the Clinton Library has some big differences in comparisons to an Archives like the Historical Society where I work in reading, mainly because of the laws that follow the government documents that I was able to work with the summer. Leaving today is going to be almost as hard as it was when I had to leave home, I met some really great people but at the same time it will be easy to return to my love ones who await my return with happiness.
