Post Numero Uno!

I like this... a fresh beginning - a new start and a new page. Just warning everyone out there reading this, I am new at this. Well, using a space to blog more than just on the first day is a whole other experience for me. (Well, this is mostly because I forget my password – a lot.) Something I'll revel about in my second post.

For now, I'll start with the basics. I'm currently an intern at the Berks Arts Council. It's quite artsy (oh, how much I like art!). I've helped with their concert series, and now we're moving on to their Holiday things.

Hmmm, maybe I shall also say that I'm an Accounting intern. So when people tell you that Accounting is all just about numbers - it's not true!

Now, back on track. Today was a typical Monday. There isn't as much activity as there would be around days when there are huge events. At the moment, it's getting there - since it's getting closer to their Film Festival and Holiday show. Today, I got to use the database - which I'm in charge of now pretty much! I keep track of all the memberships and such (being as the Berks Arts Council is a nonprofit organization - they make their money this way). These members get to have (almost) VIP treatment to events - such as having the ability to buy tickets early and maybe even at a discount (oh, the perks!). I got to go through a long list of members who have specific memberships that qualify. From this, I compiled everything together and made sure that there were no errors – such as someone being left out. Oh, and I'm starting on the letters to these members too. You know, the letters that let members know what current special treatment they get at the moment. Yayy on being members!

I feel like I'm forgetting something - but that is just typical of me. If I remember, I'll do something about it! If you haven't noticed by now, I go off on a LOT of tangents, so warning to all my (potential) readers. And a heads up, I'm not good with technology and stuff like this - so if I post things in the wrong area, lo siento (I am sorry).
