Serious Promblems.!
I just called Albright today, asking about when do the incomming freshmens recieve their book list for class.! Some one told me on the Orientation day which is August 27th. I wanted to know if that was true, and if yes why? That means we only have 3-4 days to get the required books needed for our classes. I need time to save money for books, because college books are NOT $20!!! I dont have big bills to pay for like 4-5 books even at $100 a piece, considering they are probably more than that.! Is there anyway I can speak to a sophmore who would be able to tell me name of the books that we need so I can start looking for some in my neighborhood, or at least look them up, so I know how much I need to save.! I dont know if anyone else has thought about this situation but...this is serious for me>!

Comment by Matt Palmiere on June 21, 2009 at 6:19pm - Don't worry too much. Most of my classes didn't need the book for at least a week or two. That gives you plenty of time to either get the money to buy it at the bookstore, or find it online, whichever suits you best.

yea it is true thats how its done. the reason is because the albright bookstore has every single textbook that students will need in stock the moment we arrive on campus so we dont have the issue of having to search all over for them which is pretty convenient. Depending on the classes your taking it reflects how much your going to spend. i spent about $300-$500 on college textbooks in the bookstore my freshmen year. The trick if your looking for some advice on how to reduce the cost is when you get your book list search the books in the store and try to find them online for less. some professors give us a week or 2 before we actually need to have the book in class. Also if your roomate is taking the same class you guys can split the cost and buy 1 textbook for the 2 of you. the bookstore also offers used textbooks at a reduced price compared to the brand new ones.
