So after putting on an awesome show at the Silo nightclub this past friday, it was time to finally get my impacted wisdom teeth out that I delayed for as long as I could. Unfortuently the impacted teeth had began causing improper jaw alignment in my mouth, which was causing stress on my vocal chords. In a addition the swelling had made it nearly impossible to lift my soft pallet making it nearly impossible to switch into head voice. With this being said I had my surgery yesterday, and im taking a week of complete silence followed by another week of only light talking as a way for my tired voice to reboot itself before I must head into the studio. The real lesson to be learned here for singers is not not put off removing your wisdom teeth because they could become a real nuisance when trying to perform. For myself, I was forced to cancell 3 shows due to surgery, but Im hoping for a fast recovery, and im sure my voice will enjoy the break.
