So I’m going to have to learn how to ‘tweet’ on twitter. It’s for my Education-Technology class. We have also set up a blog for the class (blog? How do you blog???hahaha) … (oh, and I need to give a shout-out to CJ for the remarkably awesome work on designing my Education Blog site- I owe you one. My talents to repay you are scarce, but maybe someday I can teach your children to love history : ) Honestly, I will have no idea what I’m doing on twitter, but I’m willing to give it a go for the sake of learning all the ways we, as adults today, network. And seriously, the limit to the characters in the tweets will aid me when all I am able to put together is about 5 words at a time, right? Which is right about how I feel right now, after a fabulous weekend spent watching movies, eating wonderful food, having so much fun shopping for about 9 hours straight, and belly laughing so much I think I’ve found a new way to work my abs. And of course, worked on my homework. I did that, too, mom. : ) <3 So today was Labor Day, or as we call it here at Albright… Monday. Yeah, classes were in session. I grabbed a taxi this morning to arrive in time for my 9am Renaissance class, which is proving to be my most challenging class so far, since ancient European history, I have to admit, is not my favorite time period to learn about! : P Alas, I am balancing that with a very cool African History class, my Edu/Tech class, Methods 1 and Sociology. A good schedule, really. Between reading, work, reading, eating, reading, sleeping, reading and doing laundry, I’m thinking it’s going to be a good semester. : ))) Oh, and speaking of that taxi, I am learning all the great ways to get around Reading. First of all, I have some amazing friends who have helped me out with rides, I now have “grab-a-cab” on my phone, I took my first bus from PSU Berks to the mall, and now my job is to learn how to catch a bus between Berks and Albright. Honestly, the bus schedules freak me out. I honestly don’t understand them when I look at them on the website, so that is one of my goals this week. Ummmm… Or my goal is to find someone who understands the schedules and can simply highlight what I need. Either way, I have accomplished a great feat, right? : ) So all in all, the semester is off to a better start than I even imagined. Classes are going really well so far, I have not wanted to cry (yet) for all the homework I have to do, I love my new job at the front desk in the Admission Office, I am thoroughly enjoying atmosphere in the new cafeteria and being able to sit at the new booths with friends doing homework or just catching up, I am having fun seeing faces from last year and catching up after a wonderful summer, I am having so much fun spending time with my favorite person in the world who is only 10 minutes away at Berks <3, I have the most awesome new early birthday shoes on my feet (thank you, mason <3 ) and OH YEAH!!!! I suppose I’ll mention that it’s my birthday in 8 days. : ))))) I’m going to be 21 : ) My parents are coming to visit me on Saturday to celebrate, which means fresh groceries, laughs and hugs, being taken out for a really good meal, and I have asked for the most awesome gift any college student can ever ask for. CASH. : ))) You know, it will aid me in my upcoming voyages and adventures, and actually, it’s number 98 on the list of things to do before I graduate… “call home and ask for money” : ))) … I’m a week into the semester. I believe it’s time to start marking some things more things off that list, right?
