Wow I cannot believe almost a month of summer has already gone by! Seems like it is flying! But before I start telling you about all the exciting things I'm up to I should probably start by introducing myself. I'm Kari and if I could I'd shake your hand but you'll just have to settle for this greeting and hopefully I'll get to meet you in person at an Open House or on tour sometime! I just started as a baby ambassador at the end of school and this coming year you'll see me on the website as a FACE! I'll be starting my senior year which is still crazy for me to think about but I'm extremely excited.
In the meantime I'm back home in Renton for the summer. Yes I am actually from Washington State I promise. It's not something Albright made up. I'm currently coaching the summer swim team I used to compete for and I'm proud to say we have 172 kids on the team. This is my third year coaching and I'm still learning new things each year. I also just got a summer internship too! I'm going to be a public programming intern for the EMP which is the Experience Music Project located in Seattle. It's a museum that focuses on music, science fiction, and pop culture. It features exhibits from all kinds of awesome things like Nirvana, Avatar, and icons/props from popular science fiction movies like Captain Kirk's chair from Star Trek Next Generation. Here's a snapshot of the museum! http://blogs.evergreen.edu/thenick/files/2012/01/gosea-emp_exterior...
I'm really looking forward to working there! If you're really curious you can also visit the museum's website here to learn more about it http://www.empmuseum.org/index.asp
I also just got back from a weekend in Atlantic City celebrating my best friend/roommate's 21st birthday. We had a blast! We went on the beach, played the penny slots with the old ladies, and danced the night away. I can't wait to go back someday hopefully very soon!
Before I end up writing a book I'll sign out, but I hope you're having fun summer adventures where ever you are too! =]
